A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
When Ren (or whatever you decide to call him) is assigned to investigate a murder at Crimson High, he expects to face some challenges. However, he soon realizes that the school's secrets are far more complex than he could have ever imagined. And with a cast of quirky characters, including some adorable girls, Ren's adventure was only just beginning.
Join him on his quest to solve a murder case and find himself, all while trying not to get distracted by the cute girls around him.

hey so I made an account because I’ve already played on pc and it worked great, but I’m playing on an android now and it’s constantly crashing. I thought you know, it might be my device so I tried cozy cafe too and it worked perfectly, didn’t crash once. I don’t know if there’s a solution or what, I’ve already tried clearing cache, even reinstalling from scratch but it keeps happening. I was really looking forward to playing the last update so I hope someone has a solution.

Its already been nearly 5 weeks since the last one came out for everyone and this one was seemingly already partly done, since it was originally part of a larger release right? (you just broke it up since it was taking a long time.)
In discord back on the 11th he posted the next update part was at 15% so my guess it's probably around the 30% mark by now

These bots are just getting more and more brazen i came here to check out the page and instead of 2 different bots that are almost always there using different names there are now 3 of them jeez

So, I downloaded Crimson High via the official itch.io desktop app (I'm on PC, and Microsoft Edge said no). But when I went to run the game, it open the file folders (instead of just running the application like for other AVN's), and I don't see the actual application in any of the folders. Help please?
Hmm, I've never really interacted with the desktop app myself, so I can't say for certain. I just downloaded it to see if I can figure something out, but I get stuck in a perpetual captcha loop, so I got no way of actually checking what happens when you download CH via the app.
What I'd suggest you do is, first of all, get a better browser than Microsoft Edge. That one's just terrible. :P
Beyond that, though, the itch.io app should store the game files somewhere on your PC. If you can figure out where that is, you should get the same access to the game as you would if you were to download it from the game's page itself.
Alternatively, check out my Patreon. Not trying to sell you anything. The game is available on there for free as well, but instead of downloading it from itch.io (which may be what gives you trouble with Microsoft Edge) you can download it via Google Drive or one of the other file hosts I use.
If neither of those options work for you, let me know and we'll figure something out. :)
I ended up downloading it through the website on Firefox. When I installed through the app and clicked 'Launch', it opened the file folder instead of running the game like it should. And the application wasn't in the files. But I got it to work after using firefox, and I've been playing it the last three or four days almost nonstop! Can't wait for the next chapter (Since I'm on chapter 4 and have almost all the unlockables, I'm guessing chapter 5 hasn't been released yet.)!

Do you plan to add Spanish?
Not anytime soon. Once the story is complete, I may commission localizations in various languages. Until then, there are a few unofficial fan translations online that you could check out. I know there is one for Spanish and Russian, and probably some others, too.
I have to say this is the best h-game on this site I've played. I never expected to get this involved with the story or characters, especially Suzu, Jun, and Mana; with Reina, Yukari, and Aki being close behind. I'm anxiously awaiting anything you're doing next with this project.

Outta curiosity Vertigo if I was to get a new phone would importing the files bring over my save or would I have to completely start over??
It depends on the phone, as far as I'm aware. Generally speaking, you can transfer your save files from one phone to another. The only question is whether your phone lets you access the necessary files.
As an example, on my phone (Redmi Note 13 5G; a bit older) I can access the save files by opening the built-in file manager, then navigate to the folder "Android > data > vertigo.crimson.high > files > saves", which holds my save files. However, I've heard from others that they can't or can't easily access the same files. If you're lucky, it's similarly straightforward for you, but there's a chance that you have to install a 3rd party file browser from the Play Store. And even then, there's a chance that your phone still won't let you access the necessary files. It's an annoying part of Android devices which I (currently) don't have a solution for. I'll try to implement something to work around this with the next update, though, since I need to figure out a solution for the Android version anyway.
TL;DR: If your phone allows you to transfer the necessary files, then yes, you can bring over your save to your new phone.
Another update finished and i already want more again. I don't think i will ever get enough of Crimson High. As always, great job and take care, Vertigo!

I can't load my previous saves with the new update.
There should be a way to jump to the latest update in game, instead of having to start all over again.
Are you playing on a pc or laptop? I'm on android and it works flawless...
Why would I add an option to jump to the latest update? Not only would that remove all your previous choices, but it'd also be pointless effort, since CH's saves generally don't break - I do my best to ensure that.
If anything like that happened to you, it's on your end, not on CH's. Instead of making obnoxious demands for a game you play for free, you may want to look into actually getting your shit together and not breaking stuff, then blaming other people for your mistakes. Especially if you're playing for free. Frickin' entitled people, I swear.

That's what asking for something looks like.
What he did instead was to complain, or to demand, depending on your interpretation of his words. Neither is really that great of an approach if you want someone to do something for you - especially if you expect them to do it for free.
If you don't pay for it or suck his D on discord you aren't allowed to comment or have an opinion about the game what so ever. Numerous very good ideas have been given previously on a certain pirate site and Vertigo always loses his shit, always goes on about 'entitled people' and 'free', imagine being such a pathetic dev you disregard good ideas and actually improving your game because those people don't pay.
Is the game even worth playing?
It pains me to say to this because the dev is so toxic and egotistical but I would say it is, is it great, no not really, but it's a decent read, I would say the worst part of it is the MC is meant to be a detective but at times he's super dumb, it's frustrating to read them parts.

I'll be honest with my first try of the game being a bit hard to get into but after giving it a second try i really loved it.I really got hooked during the middle of ch one. The game is pretty well written with each character feeling unique and enjoyable. All i gotta say is Nagisa is best girl.

So I had to replace my phone recently, and lost all my progress on CH. I reinstalled it and used an auto clicker to skip past everything so I would be ready for the new update. It speaks to the quality of this writing that, even when I was trying to skip through it, I got sucked into the story and went through it like normal.
This second go around also lent me some insight, like what kind of Myths Meri and Mei might be. It's just so good. I look forward to the next update.

I normally dont comment but ive been noticing lots of bots that are likely attempting to spread malware recently pretending to be giving out updates and acting is if its legit and safe to download for a plethora of different games not just this one so my question is this is it a new occurrence or has it been happening for a while already
Hey. Yeah, it's been a problem for a while. It started over a year ago, went on for a while, then stopped (at least on my page) for a few months, until it started again a few weeks ago. And now it's worse than ever, with bots called "Developer" and seemingly legit messages. I've been deleting 1-4 of those per day for a bit now.

I'd initially planned to make a post on here to ask about it, too, but after doing so on Patreon, I got a good idea of the average opinion (namely, everyone wants different things) so I decided to sleep on it and make a final decision tomorrow. It's likely going to be a split, though, since there are no downsides for anyone, unlike with waiting for the full update.

Mainly because it's a huge turn-off for me, personally. I don't mind adding things I'm neutral towards, but anything I actually dislike I won't add. If you enjoy pregnancy content, that's fine, but it's just not for me.

Yes, exactly the same reason for those two. While it might work with the story, I'm just not into it, and thus it would probably turn out subpar - I'm lacking the subjective understanding of what actually makes these things desirable, and I don't think reading up on something like that can substitute actual, felt desire/attraction.
Me personally I think people like pregnant bc its the way for creating new life with the one you love pregnancy doesnt have to be a sexual kink
You're right, of course. I assume that's a big part of it for a lot of people - or even the whole reason.
It doesn't change anything, though, because it clashes with my personal views regarding pregnancy
What I will say is that there is a chance for pregnancy in the story's epilogue. At least one of the girls (no details; don't wanna spoiler) lends herself well to the role of a mother, so I may make an exception for her/them. But as I said, it's not guaranteed.
When I finished the game at end I just stare at my mobile screen thinking why it's end at an unexpected moment btw waiting for new update

this is a very good story not so much a game as just a story there are no points to make any storyline choices but i like the story i'm going to make an assumption that in the next update suzu, miko and kuro and the MC are in fact going to have a foursum on their fieldtrip in the next update

there is a brief mention of the game in world crossing academy and the auther of wca said that they had some help from vertigo on something i cant remember what but i do remember asking

Anybody here can help me? I just got back after I stopped playing the game on ver 0.38. And after I DL the latest version 0.43 "update only" there's an error where I can't see any image only text. What to do with this?
The update-only version is only to update from one update to another. So, in the case of v0.43, it's only usable if you have v0.42.
To update from v0.38, you'll have to download the full version.

When we go on the field trip Kuro promises right before the end of current content, is Kuro planning to "ambush" Ren, like Machi and her sisters did? Is Kuro going to see if she can scare Ren with talk of hooking up with Morrigan? Is there going to be someone new trying to scare people, only they can't because they are too short and it's weird being scared by someone a foot shorter than you? (I realize all of this is extremely unlikely, but hey)
Anyway, this showed up on my feed a week ago or so, so it's waaaaaaay easier to find now! Just need to wait for few stuff, and wonder if Miko and Suzu plan to ambush Ren with his favorite food for a surprise dinner!

Yo Vertigo, I hope you aren't going to change to a longer dev time permanently.
One of the things that stands out about CH the most for me is that superfast dev time. It really puts you above and beyond most devs, in fact I often compare other devs to you and find them lacking.
I dont mind a one-off instance, but please dont make it permanent! I dont want to have to wait too long before I get my next fix!
If you're doing a vote on Patreon or something, please dont ignore your Itch customers! I pay good money to fund you too, so I'd appreciate having a say if it comes down to voting.

No, I'm not going to keep the longer dev time. I made a progress report on here about it just now, explaining it a bit more, but basically, this is very much a one-time thing.
There won't ever be a vote regarding things like this, either. It's something that I need to decide for myself, because ultimately, it's about what works the best for me, and what I can sustain the best in the long run. If I'd come to the conclusion that longer update cycles worked better, I would've gone with that - cause there's no point in going with something that'll just make me burn out in half a year. Luckily, this update's already shown that my previous approach was the better one - but that was kind of clear from the get-go. This was always going to be a one-time thing.
I very much enjoy being able to release new content on a frequent basis myself, because that way, I can get feedback and reactions more frequently, too. So, don't worry, things will go back to normal(-ish; there may be minor changes to things) after this update is out!
When is the new update?
Vertigo posted recently that the next update he is working on is going to take a little longer than usual but its also going to be more content than usual too.
He did not say exactly how long it would be.
Normally we would still have about a week to go before one of his usual releases would hit the interwebz. But as I just wrote, this one is bigger than usual so who knows?
